we make a life by what we give."

Opposition ~ James E Faust
"You must know that Lucifer will oppose you,
and be prepared for his opposition.
Do not be surprised he wants you to fail.
Discouragement is one of the devils tools.
Have courage and go forward.
Recognize that the gospel has been preached
with some pain and sorrow from the very beginning of time.
Do not expect that your experience will be otherwise."

Remember ~ Ardeth Kapp
Do you remember you?
Do you remember who you are
and whose you are?
Do you remember Him
who bought you with a price?

Afflictions - Henry Ward Beecher
"Affliction comes to us all
not to make us sad,
but sober;
not to make us sorry,
but wise;
not to make us despondent,
but by its darkness
to refresh us,
as the night refreshes the day;
Not to impoverish,
but to enrich us. "

Great Potential....Emma Hope
"I believe we have great potential,
it is just being satisfied with
and at peace with the day to day progression
that it takes to get there.
Recognizing and appreciating the growth on a daily basis.
Taking it one day at a time,
allowing our potential to
organically blossom into our entire being.
Becoming who we can be line upon line,
precept on precept.
Having a vision of the desired outcome,
and keeping that vision as a beacon
and standard for our daily choices."

Law of the Garbage Truck
One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport.
We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us.
My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us.
My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy and was really friendly.
So I asked, "Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!"
This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call, 'The Law of the Garbage Truck.'
He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment.
As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on you. Don't take it personally.
Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. Don't take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets.
The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day.
Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets,
so... Love the people who treat you right.
Pray for the ones who don't.
Life is ten percent what you make it and ninety percent how you take it!
Have a garbage-free day.

A Once Told Story
The story is told that once a young boy was extended an invitation to visit his uncle, who was a lumberjack in the northwest. For months the boy had looked forward with anticipation to this trip as an exciting adventure.
Finally, the time for his journey to the vast timber empire came. His uncle met him at the depot and as the two pursued their way to the lumber camp, the boy was impressed by the enormous size of the trees on every land. There was a gigantic tree that he observed standing all alone on the top of a small hill. The boy, full of awe, called out excitedly, "Uncle George, look at that big tree! It will make a lot of good lumber, won't it?"
Uncle George shook his head, then replied, "No, son that tree will not make a lot of good lumber. It might make a lot of lumber, but not a lot of good lumber. When a tree grows off by itself, too many branches grow on it. Those branches produce knots when the tree is cut into lumber. The best lumber comes from trees that grow together in groves. The trees also grow taller and straighter when they grow together."

It only takes a spark
It only takes a spark, to get a fire going.
And soon all those around, can warm up it it's glowing.
That's how it is with God's love, once you've experienced it, it's fresh like spring, you want to sing, you want to pass it on.
What a wondrous time is Spring
When all the trees are budding.
The birds begin to sing,
the flowers start their blooming.
That's how it is with God's love, once you've experienced it, it's fresh like spring, you want to sing, you want to pass it on.
I wish for you my friend
this happiness that I've found
You can depend on him
It matters not where your bound.
I'll shout it from the mountain tops, I want the world to know, The Lord of Life has come to me, I want to pass it on.
